The mission of the American Academy of Pediatrics' Section on Global Health (SOGH) is to promote and lead efforts to help children throughout the world attain optimal physical, mental and social health and well-being. The Section will prepare and empower its members to make meaningful contributions to global child health through high quality education and training, effective partnerships and collaborations, and staunch advocacy for the world's children.​


Our vision is to build a world in which all children are safe, secure, and well-nourished, with access to quality healthcare, education, and the  opportunity to develop to their full potential. Pediatricians everywhere develop the knowledge and skills required to address children's needs and collaborate with governments and organizations that plan and provide health care, in order to optimize children's health and well-being.​​
