Mobeen H. Rathore, MD, FAAP

Dr. Rathore is vice chair and diversity and inclusion champion for AAP District X. He has served on the Committee on Infectious Diseases, several task forces and the editorial boards of the Red Book, AAP Grand Rounds and Pediatrics in Review. He is an AAP spokesperson and has represented the AAP internationally.
Dr. Rathore has been involved with the AAP Florida Chapter for over 25 years. As chapter president, he led the legal fight for increased remuneration for pediatricians and common sense gun laws. He is active in organized medicine and has served on the boards of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, HIV Medicine Association, Florida Medical Association and Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
At the University of Florida, Dr. Rathore serves as professor, associate chair and chief of infectious diseases. He is the founding chief of hospital pediatrics and general and academic pediatrics and served as director of the early intervention program. He is active in his community, serving on several boards including the Muslim American Social Services Free Clinic.
Dr. Rathore completed his residency at Akron Children’s Hospital and fellowship at Cardinal Glennon and St. Louis Children’s Hospitals. He and his wife, a pathologist, live and practice in Jacksonville. They have two sons and a rescue dog, Tess.
