Lauren Chernick, MD, FAAP

Dr. Lauren Chernick is an associate professor of pediatrics in emergency medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, with a secondary appointment as associate professor in the Department of Population and Family Health at the Mailman School of Public Health. She is the associate director of qualitative research and implementation science in the Department of Emergency Medicine and a practicing pediatric emergency medicine physician. Her research focuses on improving adolescent sexual health by designing, testing, and implementing engaging digital health platforms that fit into ED workflows. She is the past Chair of the PECARN (Pediatric Emergency Care Applied Research Network) Adolescent Sexual Health Working Group and currently teaches graduate-level courses focusing on adolescent sexual health. She is the co-founder of ASPIRE!, a peer-networking program that supports early-career investigators at Columbia.
