Generational Health with Drs. Cheryl and Destiny Tolliver – Episode 299

Dr. Cheryl Tolliver is a retired board-certified pediatrician. Following the completion of residency, Dr. Tolliver has continued her quest to provide health care to children by working with underserved children at AAPHC and in private practice in Albany and Valdosta, Georgia. She has also held several assistant and associate professorships at the Medical College of Georgia and the Phoebe Putney Residency Program.  In retirement, she has enjoyed becoming a published author of parenting guides, children's books, and most recently, her first novel, Mercy and Mary. She is also currently employed by Albany Area Primary Health Care (AAPHC) as director of school-based health care, supervising APPs at the FQHC's 12 school-based health centers.  She is an active member of the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has served as District XI representative.

Dr. Destiny Tolliver is a pediatrician and health services researcher at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Boston Medical Center. She attended Yale University as an undergraduate before earning her MD from the Morehouse School of Medicine. She then completed residency in the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics at the Boston Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital. After chief residency, she completed the National Clinician Scholars Program at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Tolliver then returned to Boston as an assistant professor of pediatrics. Her research focuses on addressing the health impacts of children and families impacted by criminal legal system involvement.
