Maya Ragavan, MD, MPH, MS, FAAP, is associate vice chair of diversity, equity and inclusion research and an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. Her mission is to use community-partnered, mixed-methods research to promote health equity, with a particular focus on immigrant and refugee communities. Her work has spanned multiple topics including supporting survivors of intimate partner violence and adolescent relationship abuse (ARA), preventing ARA through parent engagement, promoting COVID-19 vaccine equity, and developing culturally affirming practices for pediatric settings.
Mario Reyes, MD, FAAP

Mario Antonio Reyes, MD, FAAP, is a senior hospital-based pediatrician at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Florida. He is board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Dr. Reyes has taught on neonatology and other pediatric topics in Cuba, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Miami. Dr. Reyes has participated in scientific congresses and published several articles in peer-reviewed journals. He was a member of the international medical squad that joined the Costa Rican Red Cross to provide aid after a 1991 earthquake in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica. He also led the pediatric medical team that helped Haiti after a 2010 earthquake devastated the country.
