Dr. Lisa Kafer is a pediatrician at Coastal Children’s Clinic in New Bern, N.C. She is a former executive committee member of the Council on Practice and Ambulatory Medicine. 

Lara McKenzie, PhD, MA, FAAHB

Guest

Dr. Lara McKenzie is a nationally recognized injury prevention researcher. Her work focuses on child health and safety, including safe sleep, childproofing innovations and injury prevention strategies for the home and community settings. She has led numerous federally funded studies, developed public health interventions, and collaborated with hospitals, nonprofits and community organizations to reduce preventable injuries. Dr. McKenzie is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University in the College of Medicine and is a Principal Investigator and Director of Training and Education Core for the Center for Injury Research and Policy at the Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
