Dr. Anik Patel is an assistant professor of pediatrics in the division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine and associate program director for global health at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. He serves on the national executive committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Council on Immigrant Child and Family Health, is a member of the AAP Global Pediatric Emergency Care initiative, a national committee member for the Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD) Global Health Learning Community and was recently appointed vice-chair of the newly founded AAP Humanitarian Pediatrics Subcommittee. Dr. Patel is deeply dedicated to capacity building, with a focus on education in resource-limited settings and improving care for migrant and refugee populations.

Dr. Katie Piwnica-Worms is Assistant Vice President of Pediatrics at New York City Health + Hospitals (NYC H+H). Dr. Piwnica-Worms leads the pediatric portfolio within the Office of Ambulatory Care and Population Health including the pediatric population health agenda, data strategy, performance improvement, and multiple system-wide programs and evaluations across early childhood and adolescent health. She is a practicing pediatric hospitalist at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, board certified in both General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine, and Clinical Assistant Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She is currently serving as a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ National Committee on Child Health Financing.
