Dr. Heidi Schumacher is a general pediatrician and associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. In this role, she serves as faculty for the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program, a state-wide initiative that integrates public health, clinical quality improvement and health services research, including a focus on school health. Previously, she served in various leadership roles within the public education system, including as chief health officer at a state and local education agency. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, including previously serving on the Executive Committee of the AAP Council on School Health.
Shuan Chen, MD, FAAP

Dr. Shuan Chen is a dedicated pediatrician and proud fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a general pediatrician working in Piedmont Pediatrics in Columbus, Georgia. With a strong focus on preventative medicine, Dr. Chen is passionate about educating young children and their parents on how to prevent diseases and embrace a healthy lifestyle, particularly in underserved communities, in which she has been working since residency. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Chen has a keen interest in the impact of social media on children and explores its potential as a tool of patient education. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys indulging in her love of cooking, with a particular expertise in variety of Asian cuisines. She is fluent in both Mandarin and English.
