Please read below for updates on our most recent activities for the Digital Transformation Initiative (DTI). These updates contain information about work in progress as well as upcoming and release feature announcements. Work over the last two weeks is included. Aap.org Content Changes

  • Bright Futures
    • Began building chatbot that can provide a more engaging experience for users to discover with Bright Futures content, especially the Periodicity Schedule.
  • Coding and Payment Hotline Form
    • Started working on changes and fixes reported from business user testing of the new form and tracking process.
  • Tested a fix for mobile display of the search bar and button when the Campaigns & Toolkits block is used on the page.
  • Worked on cleanup of the SEO settings of pages, identifying a possible issue with one of the back end custom reports as well as older pages that need to be republished to work with the latest SEO setting values.
  • Launched and began work on other changes to improve site performance when under heavy load.

shopAAP Updates

  • Launched a fix for display of a message on subscription pages that explains the Add to Cart button is disabled because the member already owns that subscription as part of their membership package.
  • Worked on issues and changes, including…
    • Tested a fix in the back end to let the front end see for the given user all the available tiers of prices for a product that has quantity discounts.
    • Tested a fix to ensure users must select at least 2 breakouts for sessions with breakouts in the event registration flow.
    • Fix for duplicate topic warning when signing up for sessions in the event registration flow.
    • Fix for adding guests and sessions when editing an existing event registration.

Learning Management System and PediaLink Transformation

  • Supported launch of activities on learn.aap.org, including…
    • Keeping Children Safe: Injury Prevention in Early Care and Education Settings - 2026
  • Program Director Center and Individualized Learning Plan (ILP)
    • Provided post go-live support for roster administration (Advisor/Admin Assignment, Request Invoice, Manage Admins), PREP SA Reports, and the ILP.
  • New PREP
    • Provided post go-live support for new PREP system.
    • Continued working on features to support Program Administration functions in the new PREP system.
    • Education team launched content for additional PREP Subspecialty blocks.

Other Features

  • Search (powered by Google Vertex AI)
    • Rolled out several updates to remove the use of the older search technology from areas of the site, such as filterable lists.
  • Healthy Children
    • Continued working on migration of the symptom checker tool onto the AAP Features site.
    • Worked on fixes on a site for teens called After Hours Health that is being migrated onto the Optimizely CMS, including making the logo cycle through different colors.
    • Worked on the Discovery phase for the redesign of the Healthy Children site to migrate it onto the Optimizely CMS.
  • Membership Portal
    • Worked on a fix to the invoice creation part for when the user selects one or more of the associations in the Affiliations component on the Medical Student application. The overall feature when live will allow for applicants who are part of certain associations (e.g., Student National Medical Association) to receive a special discount.
    • Added NPI to all license components so it could be available for applicants to enter or review while submitting their application.
  • My Account Library
    • Worked on a change to show the institution name and remove the CME/MOC label on the cards for publication products that are purchased for the user via that organization.
  • My Account Order History
    • Built a fix for the display of orders that contain one $0 product.
  • My Account Profile
    • Tested a fix for the employment location field.
  • Enterprise Membership
    • Tested the back end and front end changes that will allow a primary or secondary contact for an Enterprise Membership program to manage more than one of these types of programs.
  • Pay Open Invoice
    • Started building the front end changes to allow a way in Order History for users to view and pay unpaid balances on invoices.
  • Transcripts
    •  Worked on fixes for errors logged when copying CME activities in the association management system.
